Qualifications
Minimum Required Education: Associates Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technical area of study.
Degree requirements may be waived with A , or equivalent certification and 1-2 years technical experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing on or off site technical support to users with computer and technology issues.
Technician will install, configure, maintain and upgrade computer systems and peripherals. Provide technical assistance to teaching staff and administration. Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of data communications equipment, cameras, and cabling. Maintain inventory of hardware, software and equipment. Properly document troubleshooting steps and corrective actions in work order system. Assist with yearly deployment of new computers and equipment, including creating and maintaining computer images.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Technology, Network Administrator and Systems Support Specialist.
Special Knowledge and Skills (Preferred, but not required)
Experience working in a school environment.
Working knowledge of Mac iOS.
Computer and laptop hardware replacement.
Experience working with iPads and Chromebooks.
CAT5 installation.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders
Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (50 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds and over)
Environment: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be exposed to electrical hazards.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; emotional control under stress
